I would like to formally announce the formation of the Calgary Entrepreneur Peer Groups. I can really only share my experience in Peer Groups with you. I have been involved in a large Peer Group organization that is focused in the IT industry, many similar firms from across Canada, USA and the UK meet quarterly for 2 solid days to focus on growth and sharing information and helping each other out.

My Peer Groups have saved my marriage, allowed me to realize my true potential, and provided me with a conduit to understand who I really am. Working together with peers is critical to business success, I couldn’t imagine going at it alone any longer – that is simply business suicide. No company is an island and no one has a monopoly on great ideas. Everyone can learn something from someone else’s experiences, our own challenges and the challenges we all face daily in our Calgary based business.
Investing my time in the Peer Group – has already helped me to voice my business passion, quantify specific action steps, and expand my goals. The people in my group are discerning, committed, and bring a variety of business strengths and ideas to the table. Meet Like-Minded Business Professionals
The Calgary Entrepreneur Peer Groups bring 8 small business owners and entrepreneurs together quarterly for a full day to focus on working on their business instead what normally happens, we work in our businesses. You will have the opportunity to form strong relationships with those in non-competing markets, share your successes and your struggles. What is remarkable is that many of your challenges are shared with others in Calgary.
For the last few months, I was looking for business people that I could run past my ideas on growing my business. I wanted feedback and fresh ideas. I tried phoning people I knew to set this up and found it hard to find others that wanted to commit the time or ones that saw the value of this type of group. One evening while I was putting my mind in neutral by watching TSN highlights, I received an e-mail from Stuart asking if anyone wanted to join a Peer group he was organizing. I immediately replied “I am in.” I could not believe my luck.
The biggest benefit will be the commitment we made to our group. We committed to do certain things by the time we meet again in three months. I may be able to fool myself with plausible excuses but it would be embarrassing to try that on my peer group.

Our peer group meetings are free and will require a 12 month commitment from each member. It is important to use this time to focus on your business growth, your business future, focus on key business issues and building relationships with your peer members.

What does it cost? Again, these peer groups are free and open to all members of Calgary Entrepreneurs. There is a cost which is sharing in any meeting expenses. This could be costs related to meals, speakers and materials.
